The George W. Childs Recreation Site is a former state park that is the site of a number of cascade waterfalls along Dingmans Creek. This picturesque park is a part of the Delaware Water gap National Recreational area and includes expansive hemlock groves and cascading waterfalls along with a picnic area, comfort facilities, and a short hiking trail along the falls. It is located in Dingmans Ferry in Delaware Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania. The site is named for George W. Childs a noted philanthropist, whose widow deeded the land to the commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1912. The site contains three main waterfalls: Factory Falls, Fulmer Falls and Deer Leap Falls and is a few miles upstream from Dingmans Falls and Silverthread Falls. The site is also host to the ruins of Joseph Brooks’ 19th century woolen mill.

Where Learning Comes Naturally! The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is the perfect place for learning, exploring, getting away, and connecting. With 5 hiking trails, weekend educational programs, and a summer day camp, PEEC is a great place for nature lovers, families, friends, photographers, youth and adult groups, scouts, students, and teachers. PEEC offers six trails that vary in distance and difficulty. All trails are loops that begin and end on PEEC Campus. Pick up an interpretive trail guide for each trail from their display inside the main building or on the porch to the right of the front door. A private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, PEEC is the education partner of the National Park Service in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. PEEC advances environmental education, sustainable living, and appreciation for nature through hands-on experience in a national park.

Take to the trees at Pocono TreeVentures the newest aerial adventures ropes course in the Pocono Mountains. 66 elements and five courses from beginner to expert take you through the trees using small platforms constructed at various levels. The platforms are connected by different types of bridges that represent obstacles. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pocono Mountains, the highest point of the expert trail takes you up over 30 feet in the air with the beginner course offering an introductory experience for anyone new to the sport.

 The park was designed and built by Outdoor Ventures Group, a company that designs, builds and operates Aerial Forest Parks throughout the country. Established in 2008, OVG was inspired by Swiss adventure parks and promotes active enjoyment of the outdoors where you appreciate nature while engaging in activities that are fun, challenging, building confidence, and are good for your health. Unique to Outdoor Ventures, the company designs parks using the award winning SAFE LINK Smart Safety “intelligent belay” System with double-connected safety clips that help guests stay connected to a safety line.

 Overnight packages are offered from April through early December that include Pocono TreeVentures tickets and accommodations in a fully furnished studio villa at nearby Fernwood Resort all within walking distance to the park.

 Zip line between trees, try your skills balancing on rope walks, climb platforms, swing on wire walkways and fly through the air like a bird on dual racing ziplines. Pocono Zip Racer is the newest dual racing zip line attraction to be added to the Pocono Mountains in Bushkill, PA. The 1,000 ft aerial zip lines share a registration area with Pocono TreeVentures aerial ropes course at take guests flying through the air from the launch to the landing next to the Zip Racer registration area.

 Exhilarating fun, zip lining takes no special skills. You are harnessed at the base, walk to the top then race down.
